Wake the Dead Coffee House in San Marcos is perfect if only for the fact that you can go in and they’ll sell you coffee. Okay, maybe I am a little obsessed lately. With the change of seasons, I am fully embracing the idea that coffee and coats weather is fast approaching. First, we have to get past my favorite holiday, Halloween. Wake the Dead is perfect for this festivity (just look at the name) and they are planning for a fun filled Saturday, October 29th. Starting at 3 PM with their Art Market, there will be an entire evening of Halloween celebration.

If you’ve been thinking, “Gee, I wish I could destroy something,” then let me direct your attention toward the Piñatas at 5 PM.  They’ll also have a rousing game of musical chairs, a treasure hunt, a jack-o-lantern contest, and their costume contest starts at 9 PM. You can also buy a Halloweenie for $1 each. JWD Honey Brown Ale will be on tap for $2 a glass, and you can sit back with your bear and hot dogs and enjoy a night filled with horror flicks.

Coffee, beer, and screams. Sounds like a perfect recipe for pre-Halloween celebrations! R. Theis & His Awkward Buttlers will also be taking the stage at 9:30 PM, so make sure your costume comes with dancing shoes!
